Transforming Leadership Through Depth and Understanding
Most executive coaching follows a predictable path. Set goals. Assess current reality. Create action steps. Move forward. It's efficient, structured, and fundamentally limited.
After three decades leading and transforming businessesâfrom FTSE 100 boardrooms to strategy consulting with National Power and BT, from raising over ÂŁ500 million across 13 management buy-ins to building innovative ventures from the ground upâI discovered something essential: sustainable success isn't built on frameworks alone. It's built on understanding the whole person, their relationships, and the often-invisible patterns that shape their decisions.
This realisation led me to leave the executive suite 15 years ago to train as a psychotherapist. Since then, I've had the privilege of working with over 100 CEOs, helping them navigate not just business challenges but life transitionsâscaling companies, planning succession, moving towards retirement, and discovering what truly fulfils them beyond the metrics.
A Different Approach
My coaching goes deeper. Much deeper.
Where traditional coaching asks "What do you want to achieve?", I ask "Who are you becoming, and is that who you truly want to be?"
Where others focus on goals and tactics, I help you understand:
- The unconscious patterns formed in your early years that still shape your leadership today
- Your authentic valuesânot the ones you think you should have, but the ones that genuinely drive you
- The critical relationships in your organisation that create or constrain success
- Your vision for a fulfilled life, not just a successful career
- The culture you're actually creating, not the one described in company documents
This multidimensional approach draws on my unique combination of experiences: the practical wisdom of building and leading businesses, the rigorous training of psychotherapy, and the academic depth of my doctorate in the phenomenology of relationships from Middlesex University.
Relationships Create Culture. Culture Creates Success.
Through my research and practice, I've developed two distinctive frameworks that inform my coaching:
The Duo Coaching Framework examines the dynamics between two peopleâwhether business partners, co-founders, or key leadership pairsârevealing how these relationships shape everything around them.
The Relationship Paradigm provides a comprehensive structure for understanding the entire web of relationships within an organisation, across six essential dimensions: Communication, Connection, Commitment, Fun, Growth, and Trust.
These frameworks, combined with my business experience and therapeutic training, allow me to work with you at multiple levels simultaneouslyâpersonal transformation, relationship dynamics, and organisational cultureâbecause none of these exist in isolation.
For CEOs Who Want More
If you're leading a business and sensing that conventional coaching isn't enoughâthat the real barriers to your success lie deeper than quarterly targets or operational efficiencyâwe should talk.
Perhaps you're wondering:
- Why certain patterns keep repeating despite your best efforts
- Whether the life you're building is the one you actually want
- How to transform relationships that have become stuck or destructive
- What comes next, and how to move towards it with clarity and purpose
My approach isn't for everyone. It requires honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to look beneath the surface. But for those ready to do this work, the transformation extends far beyond business metricsâit touches everything.
Because ultimately, your leadership isn't separate from who you are. And who you are isn't separate from the relationships and patterns that have shaped you.
The question is: are you ready to understand all of it?
